For the Made in USA Authors Collection, New Balance has hooked up this pair of New Balance M1400R. Inspired by Joseph Heller’s novel, Catch-22, which is set during WWII, the shoe takes on a military look. More specifically, it has been fitted with olive green suede along the upper, all the while being accented with grey leather/mesh, as well as traces of red. Although it was produced at the brand’s New England production facility, it has found its way to Europe, as shops including Titolo and END are currently stocking them.

Originally conceived as a color scheme that would celebrate the Miami Heat’s three-peat, the Nike LeBron 11 Low SE “Multicolor” is still scheduled to release, even though the aforementioned never occurred. Being that it is such a dope shoe, we don’t think that will hurt its  sales. The vibrant, multicolored upper is broken up with touches of black, as well as gold on the Nike swoosh and lace piece. While a European release is scheduled for August 9th, we’re hearing that they’ll drop stateside sometime before the end of the month. We’ll keep you updated as time goes on.

The Converse Cons Malden Racer is a newly introduced silhouette that features some retro running roots. It takes on an 80s look, and comes done up in a combination of suede and mesh, along with some minimal leather detailing. This latest version recently surfaced via blogs, and is currently making its way the shops.

The casual runner is seen here dressed mainly in a natural beige tone, while hints of white and a soft grey tone complete the look. They’ve been spotted at overseas accounts, but no word yet as to their availability stateside. Stay tuned in for more information.

Nike Air Safari – Midnight Navy & Obsidian - Nike Air Safari - Midnight Navy & Obsidian (2) Nike Air Safari - Midnight Navy & Obsidian (3) Nike Air Safari - Midnight Navy & Obsidian (1)

When it first appeared on the scene back in 1987, the Nike Air Safari was easily recognizable, with its notorious safari print, which at the time solely graced the toe and heel areas. More recently, Nike Sportswear has played with the print placement, and has even gone as far as swapping it out with other classic prints.

With this latest release, they continue to explore the possibilities. The notorious print returns to the shoe, but it only being utilized along the leather midsection. Along with leather, the sneaker sports a combination of suede and mesh, all the while being muted in navy and obsidian blue tones. Finally, hints of grey and white add some more depth to the design. Find the shoe now at select NSW retailers including Bern-based Titolo.

Air Jordan XX9 (New Release Date) - Air Jordan XX9 (3) Air Jordan XX9 (4) Air Jordan XX9 (2) Air Jordan XX9 (1) Air Jordan XX9 (5) Air Jordan XX9 (6)

Originally Jordan Brand had scheduled the Air Jordan XX9 for a September 13th release date, but today we’re learning that the shoe will now make its way to retailers one week earlier. Here’s what Nike had to say about the shoe’s unveiling:

Building on a history of pioneering innovation and craftsmanship, the Jordan Brand today unveiled the highly anticipated Air Jordan XX9 at a media event in New York. The 29th iteration of the successful Air Jordan franchise is the world’s first basketball shoe to be tailored for flight. With the launch of this year’s signature Air Jordan release, the brand continues its commitment to bringing innovation and style to the hardwood with the best on-court footwear and apparel for the world’s greatest athletes.

Each year, the Air Jordan launch serves as a platform for the Jordan Brand to push consumer expectations for the style and performance of on-court basketball shoes. Since 1985, the launch of the brand’s most premium performance product has debuted innovations such as Visible Air in the AJ III, carbon-fiber materials in the AJ XI, and most recently, Flight Plate technology in the Air Jordan XX8.

The Air Jordan XX9 is no different – featuring two revolutionary technologies: an evolved Flight Plate coupled with the first-ever performance-woven upper. This design creates a shoe that feels and plays as if it were tailored specifically to each athlete’s foot.

Look for the silhouette to release on September 6, 2014 in two initial color schemes.

JoJo, better known as @JodiRockStar on Instagram, has the kind of shoe game that wins battles. And it’s no wonder she has style – she’s a licensed graphic designer – creating  stationery and the like for Marvel, Disney and Nickelodeon, too. I can’t wait to see what she does when the new Thor series comes out. But seriously, get to know Jodi.

Earliest memory of kicks:

As a kid I always wore Jordans that my parents would buy for me. I played softball throughout my school years so I would get a few pairs here and there.  But my happiest moment was when I purchased my first pair myself the varsity 6′s in ’91.  That’s when I really started my collection.

You won the Frshr Than Your Avrge sneaker battle last year. And it’s more layered than showing up with the illest collection. Tell us about that experience:
I really didn’t want to enter. I didn’t think I had a chance at winning and wasn’t crazy about getting up in front of a crowd in Manhattan – you know us New Yorkers can be rough.  My friends persisted and I went for it.  It was such an overwhelming and amazing experience.  I was up against some great competition and rocking customs definitely put me on that fine line between love and hate.  Luckily for me they loved my custom REDRUM 5′s (blacked out fire red 5′s with blood splatter, spikes put in the lace holes and chains to replace fabric laces)!  After they handed me the trophy and I realized it was an actual Jordan 2 bronzed sneaker I couldn’t believe it was mine!  I look at it and am so humbled by winning!  All I can say is WOW….Completely overwhelming!
Describe sneaker culture in your city:
I live in Queens but work in Manhattan. What I have come to see in NYC is that the most hyped sneaker is what is being rocked!  I know that is pretty much the sneaker community all over right now, but it definitely is the case in NYC.
You can only wear one pair of kicks for the rest of the year – which pair and why?
My DB 4′s if I had to pick one sneaker.  I have always been a superhero junkie plus they are my grails I have 2 pairs and I’m always on the hunt for another.
Sometimes female sneakerheads are marginalized, #ChicksOnFire is a celebration of women in kicks. Who are some of your favorite female sneakerheads?
Of course I can name a ton of females that are really well known in the sneaker community but I’m going to be different like I always am and name a few that are so under the radar…. @call_it_shoeicide, @kim_evans84, @t3nnischic77, @ilovemykicks24 and @thesneakermom just to name a few…I hope I don’t offend some of my favorite females by not naming them all. I love all of my sneaker sisters!!
How has collecting changed over the years?
For me, my collection has become more diversified as I get older. I realize that yes, I love Jordans, but there are so many other kicks out there to rock!  My newest favorite pick up was a pair of Puma Discs.
What’s currently on your feet:
Well being that it’s about 11PM, I’m not wearing any kicks. But today I rocked my Kobe Prelude 7′s for the first time.  I can’t believe I waited so long to UNDS them…
If that pair was a song, it would be:

Need an outfit to go with your Nike LeBron 11 “Neutral”? -

Nike LeBron 11 "Neutral" outfit grid

Nike LeBron 11 “Neutral” outfit grid (Nike)

In anticipation of the launch of the Nike LeBron 11 Low “Neutral”, Nike has sent out this outfit grid to match the all-black pair with the gum sole.  It’s lowkey where it needs to be, but pops with color in all the right places to match up with sneaker’s lining.  Here is the breakdown:

The shoe and the accompanying collection is set to drop on July 31st.  Is this a pair that you’re looking forward to?  Could this steal the thunder of the “Multi-Color” Low that is set to drop on the same week?  Let us know in the comments below.

The Different Ways Sneakerheads Cope With Sneaker Restock Failure -

Nope...

Nope…

And so concludes another episode of “sneaker retailer does a restock, sneaker Twitter gets mad”.  It’s a never-ending saga in the struggle between stores that try to keep up with the demand for the retros that people want and the sneakerheads that just can’t wait to fork over money for kicks that they’re going to use to flex on social media and resell the next day as “VVVVNDS”. But that’s none of our business, right?

Thanks to Twitter, we can actually see the real time reactions of the people as they go from hopeful to scoring a pair or two to threatening to act like morons in real life.  There’s a happy “it’s ok, we’ll get them next time or move on to the next thing” medium out there somewhere, but their tweets are too far and few to be seen in the sea of bitterness or they have better things to do with their lives than tweet their apathy towards not paying nearly 200 dollars for retros.  In any event here are The Different Ways Sneakerheads Cope With Sneaker Restock Failure.

Well, if you're a size 15 or 17, you came up, even if these kicks are kinda terrible...

Nike Air Huarache – Black / Red - nike-air-huarache-black-red-02

Of course the Nike Air Huarache has to be seen in a Black and Red colorway! This time around the silhouette gets dressed in an all Black build with a ventilated mesh toe, while Red hits the tongue branding, outsole and strap. Its only fair that a classic Nike silhouette gets paired with a classic colorway, but what isn’t fair is that there is no word of a stateside release just yet. Nevertheless, if anything changes we will let you know. But if you can’t wait, you can grab your pair from Australian retailer, Prime, now.

Air Jordan 29 Packaging (First Look) -

Air Jordan 29

The Air Jordan 29 is almost here ya’ll!

The Air Jordan 29 is set to make its retail debut this September. And while we expect to see and hear more about the latest sneaker from Jordan Brand who know is we actually will. One thing we do know though, is that the packing is nice! As you can see from the photo above the Air Jordan 29 will come in a rectangular box with hits of red “Elephant” print on the base and lid. A black stripe runs around the edge of the lid while “XX9″ sits on the side in white.

Hopefully Jordan Brand will share more details about the Air Jordan 29 and its packaging soon. Until then, check out some of our other articles on the 29 and let us know what you think about them, and the box, in the comments section below.
